Amiel Weinstock – Principal
As an estate planning attorney, I work with clients and their advisors — including attorneys, accountants, and wealth managers — to develop and prepare sophisticated and appropriate estate plans for all types of families. I work with my clients to successfully accumulate, manage, and distribute their personal wealth in a tax-efficient and meaningful manner. I am frequently asked to serve as trustee for my clients, and I often advise individual and corporate fiduciaries regarding ongoing obligations and responsibilities to trust beneficiaries. I am licensed to practice in both Massachusetts and New York.
I also provide guidance to clients and their trustees concerning the fiduciary responsibilities associated with holding life insurance policies inside trusts. I collaborate with insurance teams in preparing comprehensive policy reviews, including detailed analysis of existing life insurance, ownership structure, and any other options available to improve the overall situation for a client.
I have many years of experience analyzing complex estate and gift tax issues, and addressing all aspects of trust and estate administration in will contests, trust reformations, disputes among beneficiaries, and prenuptial planning. I have managed and coordinated annual gifting through complex irrevocable trusts and family controlled entities and drafted/prepared all documentation for the incorporation and formation of C corporations, S corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and private foundations.
I am a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and have been designated as an Accredited Estate Planner by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. I also serve on the Steering Committee of the Trusts & Estates Section of the Boston Bar Association where I chair a program that helps teach younger lawyers to become better public speakers.
I maintain a pro bono practice that has included incorporation and formation of various charitable organizations and advising such organizations on tax-deductible contributions.I created AZW Law because I think I can better serve my clients by having greater control over the cost for such services. My goal is to provide the highest level of service and work product at a reasonable cost.I live in Brookline, Massachusetts with my wife Jennifer and our three boys, Aaron, Jonah and Nathan.
